Essential Information

Appearance: Despite Sam's Biblical namesake, Sampson, who was a strong, mighty man, this Sam is a scrawny little thing that stands at 5'2". Barely tipping the scale at 110 pounds, Sam has curly blonde hair, big blue eyes, and a sheepish grin accompanied by a dimple in his right cheek.

Sam really likes to wear his school uniform. It just makes him so happy. However, he has a silver cross on a black leather chain that he always wears. He likes to joke that he got sorted into Slytherin because Slythein colors are SILVER and green, and his charm is silver. Get it? Cause they match? Get it?

Personality: At first one might think Sam is a Hufflepuff. He is loyal, friendly, and dependable. However, look beneath the first layer ("Ogres are like ONIONS") and you will see Sam's unbridled ambition. He will always achieve his goal, even if his goal wasn't terribly well thought out. He knows what he wants, and he doesn't change his mind much.

Sam is stubborn. He doesn't like being told what to do. He's secretive. He doesn't like telling people much about himself. He likes to smile, nod, and not let people know what he's against or for. That way, they won't get between it and him. He is also easily jealous- while his posiive traits let him make friends easily, he finds it hard to keep them: he can be clingy.

History: Sam's father is a Protestant preacher, and his mother is the lead singer in their church choir. For as long as Sam could remember, all of his friends were at church, and he was happy.

When he turned eleven, he walked downstairs to find two VERY angry parents and a confused looking man in strange robes.

Evidently, through this man, who was a professor at Hogwarts, it had been made clear to them that THEIR GOOD CHRISTIAN SON was dabbling in WITCHCRAFT. Disgusted by the notion, Ruth and Matthias threw their confused, scared, and unprepared 11 year old onto the streets.

Sam wandered through London until he found a pub, into which he went. There he discovered that he wasn't insane, there WAS magic and he WAS magical! The bar kept him until to his Hogwarts was able to send another professor to smooth things over.

By that time, the Anders had calmed down, and they allowed Sam to return home. However, they treated him as though he were a dog. Five year old Abe didn't understand why Mummy and Daddy never brought Sammy to church anymore.

Sam went to Hogwarts where he loved everything. He had never felt so normal. Even though he had been rejected by his own kind, Sam continued to pray. He kept his faith, and now he is in his third year, he hopes to start a monthly church in Hogsmeade.
